Terrain Collapse Simulation - Houdini FX + Blender

This simulation illustrates a large-scale terrain collapse into a water reservoir behind a dam.
The project focuses on capturing natural destruction dynamics, fluid interaction, and environmental storytelling using a physically based VFX workflow.
The sequence shows how a massive section of terrain gives way, crashing into the water body — triggering realistic fluid displacement and a catastrophic overflow beyond the dam wall.
💡 Key Features:
• Terrain modeling and dam structure built in Blender
• Destruction and fluid simulation fully done in Houdini using FLIP and RBD solvers
• Realistic splashing, secondary motion, and sediment effects
• Controlled timing and scale, simulating natural geological behavior
• Final scene prepared for cinematic rendering and VFX integration

🔧 Tools Used:
• Houdini (RBD destruction, FLIP fluid, particle debris, SOPs)
• Blender (modeling, environment layout, scene scale setup)
• Alembic/FBX export pipeline between Blender and Houdini
• Simulated at high resolution for large-scale impact realism

This project demonstrates destruction + fluid FX integration and is ideal for natural disaster simulations, VFX sequences, or educational breakdowns.
